Rates and Q&A’s
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy. Many people come because something doesn’t feel quite right. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure about your direction? If something in your life feels difficult or unresolved, therapy can offer a space to explore this at your own pace.
What happens when I first get in touch?
Getting in touch can feel like a big step. After you contact me, I will reply to arrange a free 20-minute introductory call. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, talk a little about what has brought you to therapy, and see whether working together feels right. There is no obligation to continue.
What is the first session like?
The first session is a space for you to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you might be looking for. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance and we will take it at your pace. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable.
How often will we meet?
Sessions are usually weekly and last 50 minutes, taking place at a regular time. This consistency helps create a supportive and reliable space for the work.
What happens in therapy sessions?
Therapy is a space to talk, reflect, and explore your experiences. We may look at patterns in your relationships, how past experiences are shaping your present, and what might help you feel more connected to yourself. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready.
What is creative arts therapy?
As an MA-qualified arts therapist (dramatherapist), I can offer creative and practical techniques to help you to develop coping mechanisms, and to gain self-awareness. You are always able to choose just talking therapy, or whether you would like to use more creative techniques to express yourself.
Do I need experience of arts or drama to benefit from creative arts therapy?
Absolutely no prior experience of art or drama is required to be able to benefit from these techniques.
Does online therapy work as well as in-person?
Many people find online therapy to be just as effective as meeting in person. It can also offer flexibility and allow you to access support from the comfort of your own space.
What are your fees?
My rate starts from £60 for a 50 minute online session, payable by bank transfer or Paypal ahead of each session. Sessions take place weekly.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions missed with less notice may be charged.
Is everything confidential?
Confidentiality is a central part of therapy. There are a few legal and ethical limits (for example, where there is risk of serious harm), which we would discuss in our first session.
Taking the next step
If you’re considering therapy, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You don’t need to have everything figured out, an initial conversation can be a helpful place to begin.
