This website is operated by Justine Garside-Martin, BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist and HCPC Registered Dramatherapist. I am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information sensitively and securely.

What information I collect

If you contact me through this website, by email, or by telephone, I may collect:

  • your name

  • email address

  • telephone number

  • information you choose to share about yourself

This information is only used to respond to your enquiry and provide therapeutic services where appropriate.

How your information is stored

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Emails sent via the contact form are delivered to an email account hosted by Hostinger. I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and confidential.

Lawful basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, the lawful basis for processing your information is:

Legitimate Interests — responding to enquiries and providing therapy services
Special Category Data — provision of health-related therapeutic support

Confidentiality

Everything discussed in therapy is treated confidentially. However, confidentiality may be broken where:

  • there is serious risk of harm to yourself or others

  • there are safeguarding concerns

  • disclosure is required by law

Where possible, this would be discussed with you first.

How long information is retained

Initial enquiries that do not proceed to therapy are normally deleted within 6 months. Client records are retained securely in accordance with professional and insurance requirements.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • request access to your information

  • request correction of inaccurate information

  • request erasure where appropriate

  • withdraw consent where applicable

  • complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

I aim to provide a safe, respectful and professional service at all times.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of the work, I encourage you to raise this with me directly wherever possible so that we can try to resolve the issue openly and constructively.

Complaints can be made in writing by using the contact form on this website. I will acknowledge your complaint as soon as reasonably possible and aim to respond within 14 days.
